Looking at my closet, the majority of my shirts/dress shirts are regular button downs. Not many of them have the openings for cufflinks usage, even though I'm a big fan of wearing cufflinks. With shirts that are made with french cuffs, they are usually worn for special occasions. But, what if there was a way to wear cufflinks with regular dress shirts? Ones that would connect with the button on the sleeves?
Focused on these two questions, the Duffin family (Marcus, Chris, and Steve), along with cufflink expert Chris Zownir, have teamed up to create an opportunity for men and women alike. With a combination of experiences in different fields, each member of the team brings critical perspectives to the table for producing a product that they believe will change the industry.
Appropriately named, Anycuff is the end result of the prototypes that the crew has put together, in order to create cufflinks that can be worn on regular button cuff shirts. By utilizing neodymium magnets, each two piece link comes together with a simple magnetic attraction. The Button Cover portion of the link slides onto the button, while the design piece slips in the sleeve opening. And just as the two pieces clip together, they can be easily removed when needed.
As noted, the Anycuff is "made from chrome plated brass, built to look great and built to last." Since Brass has great durability, it suits well with the chrome plating of the cufflinks. The neodymium magnet used for the cufflinks is N52, which is currently the strongest magnet found on the market. This feature gives the Anycuff the capability of staying connected throughout the day without any trouble, whether worn in a French Cuff or Barrel Cuff format.
The Anycuff, patently protected, is a neat product, as it opens up the opportunity for men (or women) to utilize cufflinks as an accessory with regular button-cuffed shirts. Anycuff has the potential of finding its way onto the closets of many, as it will attract the eyes of those looking to sharpen up their looks for different occasions, even if the events are not important ones.
It'll be interesting to see the different variations that Marcus and his team introduce once their project is successful. At the moment, backers will be able to enjoy either the star centered Anycuffs or opt for the customized ones.
Overall, developing a new accessory, that pertains to many, POPs.
