If cooking was a sport and we were picking teams, I'd be the last person picked. It's a field that I've struggled with over the years. The motivation to be creative when cooking a meal has been non-existent. Fortunately for me, Liz and Sarah Downey have created a unique system of helping individuals, like myself, become inspired to spice things up in the kitchen. With experiences in designing, business, and accounting, the Downey sisters are using their expertise and interests to develop a creative venture, focused on food.
Tired of making the same meals over and over again, Sarah and Liz have designed and produced Foodie Dice. As they explain it, Foodie Dice is "a fun new way to shake up your cooking routine. Foodie Dice is a set of 9 dice designed to inspire creative, whole-ingredients meals." With 5 primary dice and 4 seasonal veggie dice, there are 186,000 possible meals that you could make. With a simple process of rolling the dice, you can come up with a great meal and not have to worry about what to cook. And if you're not feeling too happy with what you rolled, just roll the dice again for a new meal idea.
I'm looking forward to adding Foodie Dice to my kitchen, and I'm positive it'll get me motivated to try cooking different meals. However, Foodie Dice has the potential of becoming more than what it already is. Creating an online community, which would connect Foodie Dice users, would be a route that the Downey sisters could take. It would be a way for fans to share their best practices and help out the rest of us who constantly set off the smoke detector.
Overall, Foodie Dice has a great smell of POP to it.
