We're all about POPs here at The Freshpreneur. However, we're well aware of certain kind of "pops" that drive everyone crazy. For example, how annoying is it when you're out and about enjoying a nice sunny day, when all of a sudden your flip flop strap pops? Not only can you not fix it on the spot, but you also risk an injury walking with a broken flip flop on, while looking quite foolish.
Too familiar with this mishap, the Australian company Willi Footwear has formulated a patented design to change the quality and structure of flip flops. With a solid group of guys working on the project, Willi Footwear is looking to shake up the sandal industry.
Willi Footwear's Interchangeable Flip Flops are here to end the life hacks that you've been using to keep your sandals from blowing out. According to the crew, "Willi has been awarded several patents for its’ ‘interchangeable range’ that allows the wearer to customise the thong base with different coloured straps. The straps have been designed with boomerang-shaped plugs to minimise the chance of a blow-out."
With multiple color options for both the base of the sandal and the straps, you'll be able to adjust your footwear to match that of your outfit as you head out for the day. It takes less than 30 seconds to change out the straps, without needing any tools. Considering you don't have to worry about the flip flops giving out, the only struggle you could run into may be your inability to color coordinate the straps.
It's interesting to see individuals and companies find ways to improve certain types of products that haven't been upgraded in quite a while. Willi Footwear may have hit the jackpot with their idea, and they have the potential of shaking up the industry. With patents in hands, they'll definitely will be grasping the attention of major flip flop manufacturers, if they haven't already.
It would be nice to see Willi Footwear put their flip flops to a few grueling tests and utilize a GoPro camera to make the flip flops look even more awesome. Overall, making the effort to focus on #nomoreblowouts POPs.

*Fun Fact: In Australia, the plural term thongs is also used to describe flip flops. For example, Brad Munro of Willi Footwear, wears thongs to work. The more you know people, the more you know.
