When you take a look at the variety of toys available for our four legged furry friends, it can get very overwhelming. Each specific dog toy has more variations, from a different manufacturer, than one can count. It becomes a guessing game when picking one. Which one do you choose? At that moment, the question then becomes, what's durable, what's useful, and most importantly, will Oreo the pup love/play with it?
Recently, a group of San Francisco designers and dog lovers, called Paww, set out to develop fetch toys that are durable, have interesting flight and bounce patterns, are "chuckable," and finally, dispense treats. After years of testing and hundreds of prototypes, they're ready to introduce three different toys that are sure to grasp your dog's attention.
Paww's set of smart fetch/treat toys consists of three different shapes and sizes. Although different, each one is designed from the same four core principles described above, and Paww takes these principles very seriously. As noted by Paww, "We don't take design lightly, and we obsess over every little detail, because we don't believe that there's such a thing as a product being too good for our dogs (or yours)!"
Each toy has special ribs inside the stems, so that treats fall out as your dog plays with the toy. They are floatable, making them accessible for water activities. Also, it's important to note that all of Paww's toys work well with ball launchers such as Chuckit and Throw 'N Go.
PortaBallo - The highest and longest bouncing ball of the selection, "this 'wild mushroom' ball has a stem that causes the ball to bounce very erratically." Dogs love it so much that some of them "just go crazy for the unpredictable bounce."
GoofBall - "The ears not only look funny, but they also cause the ball to zig-zag when it bounces, keeping your dog on his or her toes. Little dogs love the GoofBall, since they can grab onto the ears and get in on the fun too. The GoofBall isn't a tug toy, but the ears are just big enough that you can play a little tug of war as a reward after a successful fetch."
StickBall - This is the perfect toy for dogs that love chasing sticks. There's also less bouncing due to the long arms, and it's easy to pick by. The StickBall is great for tugging, and useful for owners that live in smaller, space-constrained areas.
With the market saturated with global giants, a small company focused on producing dog toys can be an extremely difficult task. However, with the care, quality, and passion that Paww designers have put into making these toys, it will pay off in the end. Their toys are interesting and have received the paw of approval.
With the growth that the campaign is seeing, with well over 400 backers at the moment, Paww has the potential of providing dog owners with a set of toys that are efficient and reliable. Paww toys are made with both involved parties in mind, expanding on the experience and relationship owners have with their dogs.
Overall, a unique set of dog toys that keep dogs excited POPs.
