We each are in the pursuit of happiness. Some think this is manifest in an aggressive and successful career, others by traveling the world, while others through philanthropic endeavors. The above listed manifestations for the pursuit of happiness are lofty, important for personal growth, and do attribute to overall happiness. However, I find the root of happiness to be based in relationships.
This Thursday’s crowdfunding campaign POP review is of a dear friend of mine, Shawhin Mosadeghzad. Shawhin graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelors in Business Management. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Dallas, Texas to work in the consumer packaged goods industry, where he and I met. We began The Freshpreneur venture nearly two years ago. He now resides in San Francisco, California.
Shawhin is gregarious by nature and values relationships, and in this age of social media and instant communication, he wants to bring people back to its essence—building relationships.
To facilitate this, Shawhin has come up with a simple stationary called Remember the Time. Unlike most stationary on the market, Remember the Time is not event specific (i.e. thank you, anniversary, birthday, graduation, etc.). Rather, the card is intended to evoke spontaneous engagement through hand-written sentiments drawing upon a mutual memory.
Shawhin explained, “I created Remember the Time as a tool for us to reconnect with old friends…on a much personal and deeper level. The cards are specific and direct, as the moment discussed between the two parties is exclusive to them”.
The cards are approximately 4x6 inches and come in either Passionate Blue or Elegant Green. The front of the cards are letter pressed with a unique font and design somewhere between nostalgia and fun. You can back this project on Kickstarter for as little as $10, but there are also large quantity options for those interested in a unique line of stationery to stock a boutique.
The world would be a better place if relationships were valued and cultivated. Remember the Time is a subtle societal push in that direction. I for one set a new year’s resolution in 2014 to write my grandparents once per month. It has been so rewarding for both me and them that I continue the practice through the present. This is at the core of Remember the Time.
Regarding the guiding vision of his idea, Shawhin commented, “The goal is to create a brand that takes emotional connection between two individuals to the next level. I want to magnify the experience for both parties, so that when a note is written, it's written with full emotion and best intent”.
Reconnect today with a POP and help someone you love or admire remember the time.
