The fascinating aspect of crowdfunding is that it appeals to just about anyone. Majority of the time, no matter what the need is, someone, somewhere is running a project relating to that need. As backers, ironically, we don’t know there is a need, until we run across a project. A perfect example is the beautifully designed campaign from a Vancouver, WA group, called Puj.
Led by co-founders Katie and Ben Richardson, Puj has found a way to solve a common household problem for parents with young children. The problem? Katie and Ben recognized that throughout the day, their children would use multiple cups at various times when getting a drink. The result? Dirty cups would pile up by the sink, requiring unnecessary time needed to wash them. Knowing that they could come up with a better solution, the two designers came up with a great idea, and now they’re ready to manufacture it.
PhillUp is Puj’s answer to piled-up dirty cups. As explained, “PhillUp is a simple, beautiful and highly functional kid cup that hangs up on your fridge. Now kids and friends can help themselves.” With four different color variations, PhillUp cups attract both kids and their parents.
By applying the Adhesive Hook to the fridge, kids will be able to grab their designated cup, fill it up with water (stay hydrated kids!), and chug it down. Once done, they can simply put it back on the hook for a later usage by using the Flexi Hang Tab. However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wash the cups on a continual basis. Rather, the cups help cut down on the number of total cups kids use throughout the day.
PhillUp cups are dishwasher safe, so your kids will be able to use them for a long time. They are also BPA and PVC free, leaving parents with a peace of mind, knowing that they don’t have to worry about safety concerns. Lastly, the cups have a Grippy Base, which aim to reduce spillage at the dinner table.
So far, PhillUp cups have been a big hit within the parental community. Surpassing their goal within only a day and a half, the Richardsons and the Puj team have designed a product capable of filling a void that many parents face on a daily basis.
Aside from the potential of grasping the attention of many parents with young children, especially those with multiple minions, PhillUp cups also have the potential to help with other secondary causes. This includes cutting down on the water needed to wash dirty cups, allowing parents to spend less time in the kitchen and more time with their kids.
Overall, a product that benefits both parties of the household POPs.
