Let me just preface this one by stating that my wife—like most people—hates going to the dentist. It’s a hassle. There are reams of papers that seemingly ask for the same information over and over again. And when it comes to scheduling appointments commute time often makes this one- hour visit a half-day excursion. Sarah and Lowell, co-founders of San Francisco based Studio Dental are addressing these concerns through modernizing the dental experience.
Studio Dental will be a traveling dental practice—not too far removed from the taco bus model (only without the cramped quarters and grease infused work stations). This mobile dental office will be modern in both architecture and experience. Not only is the dental office mobile but you will be able to access it through your mobile (updates, locations, scheduling, text messages). So from the convenience of anywhere and anytime you can schedule an appointment. On the day of your appointment Studio Dental will drive to your office.
With the commute eliminated and the paperwork reduced to online user input, the dental experience will be greatly enhanced. The need for other industries to follow suit in bringing products and services directly to the consumer will be more and more pronounced within the next decade. The brick-and-mortar establishment, although not going away, will not be a sufficient stand-alone strategy. The landscape is changing and I am excited tosee the this innovation in the dental experience. What a great POP!
